School staff raise money for NHS during coronavirus crisis by running a marathon over 26 days
Staff at Worle Community School Academy are raising money for the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic by running 26.2 miles between 1st and 26th April.
Tina Burrows, Neill Bird, Paula Higginson and Mark Tong set themselves the task of raising money for for the NHS, with £326 having already been raised.
Tina, Head of DT, (pictured) came up with the idea after the London Marathon was postponed from this month until October later this year.
Tina said: “The postponement of London Marathon 2020 was disappointing but necessary. Not one to be put off, I decided to still run 26.2 miles but over 26 days of April, ending on the 26th April, my birthday.
“Friends, family and colleagues have joined my challenge. Having the Just Giving page has resulted in our challenge raising money for the NHS too. Win, win all round.... our physical fitness, our mental fitness and The NHS.”
