Ben Knocks
“Having graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in International Business Management, I have spent the whole of my working life working in education, specifically Further Education. I joined Weston College in 2009 and spent seven years working my way up the organisation focussing on school partnerships, Information, Advice and Guidance, outreach and widening participation. During this time I also completed a Masters Degree in Business Management from Bath Spa University. I spent a year at Bath College before returning to Weston College in August 2017 as one of their Assistant Directors. My role encompasses managing numerous departments focussing on building effective strategic and operational relationships with local schools, as well as ensuring all Weston College learners receive a quality experience throughout their college journey and our supported to progress into employment or onto higher level learning. I have always enjoyed working with young people and with colleagues who put education and the futures of young people first. I thrive on working in such a dynamic sector and love the fact that not one day is the same as another.
Throughout my time at Weston College, I have always been an advocate of WCSA and feel privileged to join the Academy Council and hope that I can support the Academy in delivering its vision of ‘nothing but the best’ and therefore providing outstanding education to the young people of Weston-super-Mare.
Outside of work, I try to still play rugby (if the knees allow it), otherwise can be found at the Rec with family supporting Bath Rugby.”
