By Jill Dando News
Jack, 11, is planning out a dream photography career after becoming a Jill Dando News photographer at his school.
Amazingly, the talented Worle Community School Academy student in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset has been taking photos since he was only four years old.
He has taken hundreds of photos of wildlife including birds, fish, frogs and even zoo animals.
Now he has joined the expanding Jill Dando News, which has up to 100 reporters aged 8 to 18 in The Priory Learning Trust schools.
Jack said: “I have always loved taking pictures of animals since I was four years old and I have learned how to take better pictures through experience.
“When I was in year 2, I went on a school trip to The Sealife centre in Weston and a stingray followed me around the tank and came to the surface. It was then that I knew that I wanted to take photos of the wildlife I saw.
“Since then I have taken pictures of birds, fish, frogs and even zoo animals.
“Additionally, I have a motion detecting wildlife camera I set up in a tree and got footage of: starlings , bluetits , sparrows and woodpigeons.
“I have years of experience and can keep a steady hand when filming.”
Head of Year 7 Rachel Brace said: “Jack is a lovely student and a very enthusiastic and talented photographer. He has made a brilliant start to our school.”
The first Jill Dando News Centre was launched at Jack’s school in 2017 in memory of TV legend and former student, Jill Dando.
