Students to enjoy fun week to help move to ‘the big school’
Students transitioning to ‘the big school’ in September can now enjoy a fun transition programme.
Experienced teachers will produce a fun and exciting week of activities during the summer holidays in ‘The Big Step’ at Worle Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset
‘The Big Step’ will help make the transition to ‘big school’ even smoother, and boosts self-esteem and confidence.
It will familiarises children with their new surroundings. And it will help students to make new friends and learn coping strategies for anxiety.
‘WCSA has an excellent pastoral system’
The Academy’s transition and pastoral system is already one of the best around and the school‘s motto is ‘We Challenge and Support to Achieve’.
Head of Year 7, Rachel Brace, said: “This is a brilliant programme. The children who enrol will gain from a superb range of activities to help them to settle even quicker into our Academy.”
Families invited to Into the Light event
Families are also being invited to view the ambitious Worle Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare at their latest Into the Light event.
The tour on Thursday 22nd April will give an open air insight into school life. And it will give a chance to view WCSA’s excellent campus facilities, including the £400,000 auditorium and sports hall improvements.
Prospective pupils, parents and carers can have guided tours between 4pm and 7pm.
The academy has an excellent and wide-ranging curriculum, Weston’s largest performing arts stage and strong mental health provision.
