10000km Tokyo Olympic challenge for students and staff
Students and staff are walking, running and cycling the 10,000km to Tokyo in time for the Olympics.
The PE Department at Worle Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset set students and staff a challenge to take part in the 10,000km journey to Tokyo, ready for the summer Olympic Games in the city.
They have to record the distance they walk, run or cycle, and send it into the school who are tallying up the total distance each day.
PE Teacher Maddie Larkman ran 7 miles on the first day of the challenge, while Ollie and Sam in Year 8 did three miles.
Principal Jacqui Scott said: “We are passionate about physical exercise which aims learning and mental wellbeing. This is a tremendous challenge and students and staff have entered it with enthusiasm.”
