Success Day 2019

WCSA have been celebrating GCSE success today with students. 62% of students achieved the new 9-4 grades in 5+ GCSEs including English and maths. Miss Scott said, “Well done to all our students who have collected results today.”

In particular, Iris Mayne and Jessica Loveridge achieved nine Grade 9s and eight Grade 9s respectively, making the academy one of the only British state secondaries to have two such students with the accolade (pictured below). Iris now plans to do A Levels in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics, whilst Jessica now is to study A Levels at Weston College in further maths, English literature and French.

Gabriel Guse achieved both English and maths despite only arriving from Bulgaria in October with minimal English. He immersed himself into school, was very well liked by all the Year 11 students and his English has improved tremendously. 

“We want to thank the students, parents and carers, community and governors for all their support.”
