I have been recently accepted as a local after living in Weston for 14 years along with my wife Mel and our 2 children who are in YR7 WCSA and YR5 Mendip Green.
I commute by train to central Bristol daily for my job as Services and Support Manager for a software development company called Sefas. I have been a IT Project Manager for last 20 years responsible for defining and delivering a range of small to large projects both internally and for external clients. For the last 10 years I have also had line management responsibility for a small team of software developers.
I left school at 18 with A-Levels but returned to education during my thirties when I studied part time for 5 years at De Montfort University and secured a Bachelor degree in Business Studies.
Through my children I have been involved in a number of local organisations and am currently treasurer for 1st Weston Village Scouts, 4th year as Parent Governor at Mendip Green and an assistant coach/referee for Hornets Rugby U12s. My part time job is transporter and supporter of my children who are very active and involved in rugby, netball, football, cheer leading and athletics.
While my availability during school time is poor I have enjoyed reviewing policies, analysing attainment data and attending board and committee meetings during the evenings.
